Nose bleeding can be many times caused by the excessive heat in summer. A leaking nose can be very unpleasant for those who see it. Even if it feels a few tissues could solve the problem, the occurrence must not be a reason for panic. In a few minutes it can be stopped.
Pinch your nose
You can pinch the nostrils with your fingers and press them strongly towards the cheeks. You must stand still, with the head leaned forward, for stopping the liquid to reach your neck. The position must be maintained for ten minutes. If the leaking does not stop, repeating the procedure may be recommended.
Another method that may work when the flow is not stopping is introducing a tissue and pinching the nostrils again, for fifteen minutes. After bleeding is over, the tissue must be kept inside for two hours. If even then the blood keeps flowing, a medic must be contacted for making a special tissue or use other methods. Some lemon juice or lavender essential oil can be applied on a small cotton piece. Applying an ice cube on the nose, tucked a gauze can contract the blood vessels and stop the leak.
There are traditional methods. For example using two wet cotton pieces, powdered with salt, putting them between the upper lip and gum and pushing them towards the nose can be helpful. Another traditional method could be pushing a metal coin under the bleeding nostril, until it stops.
If your nose bleeds often, without any specific reason, you must maintain your snot wet by drinking eight glasses of water a day. In winter, humidifiers can be used. The use of a nasal vaporizer with salt can be good before travelling by plane, after a cold, sinusitis or a very dry environment. Aspirin can be detrimental to coagulation, but if you follow a treatment based on aspirin, it should not be stopped. However, in case of continuous bleeding, the advice of a doctor should be followed. If you have some allergies that relate to the nose, they must be treated rapidly.
If nose bleeding occurs frequently, eat food that is rich in vitamin C (oranges, grapefruit, and green vegetables) and up to 1000 mg a day, pills with vitamin C.
